Major General Soner Oruchoglu, the recently appointed military attaché of the Republic of Turkey in the Republic of Azerbaijan, was met at the Internal Troops Headquarters on October 27 by Lieutenant General Shahin Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs and Commander of the Internal Troops.

    Lieutenant General Sh. Mammadov greeted the guest with warmth, congratulated him on the beginning of his operations in our nation, and noted that the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan have a long history of diplomatic relationships. He talked about the effective growth of military cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey and stressed the high development of our nations’ diverse relations. He also mentioned how much our people valued fraternal Turkey’s political, moral, and diplomatic support of our nation throughout the Patriotic War.

    The Commander of the Internal Troops who viewed the existence of military-technical cooperation between our two countries as a positive development expressed confidence that the friendly and cooperative relations between the Armed Forces of the Republic of Turkey, including the Gendarmerie General Command, and the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue successfully. Particular attention was drawn to the significant contributions made to the advancement of the officers’ training program serving in the Internal Troops by the Gendarmerie General Command of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
 
    Major General S. Oruchoglu thanked for the cordial welcome and underlined that bilateral ties will significantly boost the nations’ future growth. He went on to say that he would lend the assistance required to improve the mutually beneficial working relationships between the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs' Internal Troops and other institutions in the Republic of Turkey.

    Sincere friendship and military cooperation between the relevant institutions of the two nations will continue effectively, it was observed at the recent meeting based on the mutual exchange of ideas.
