Information about the Internal Troops Museum

The Internal Troops Museum has been established under the Order dated on February 09, 2008 of the Deputy Minister of Internal affairs – Internal Troops Commander. The aim of establishing the Museum was to glorify the history, development phases, the path of struggle and the achievements of the Internal Troops obtained in service and battle operations.

The Museum is a 2-storey building within the territory of the military unit no. “N”, and consists of 2 large, 4 small halls, a museum foundation and the work-room of the museum manager.

The Decree dated on March 9, 1995 of the people’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev on the celebration of the 12th of March, when the Internal Troops started to battle for the first time, boards, on which the duties of the Internal Troops specified by the Law «on the Status of Internal Troops» of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been reflected, the weapons used by the Troops personnel in the war operations, and information about being known of the Internal Troops as the “Support Regiment” during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and exhibitions on stone pieces, compositions showing the personal and professional life of well-known social-political figure Yusif Ziya Talibzada, who led the regiment, orders of the Internal Troops Commanders on involvement of the Internal  Troops in the battles for defense of Aghdara, Aghdam and other regions in 1992, attack of the group accompanied by armored vehicles, and the regions, where the Internal Troops were involved in during the war operations for the territorial integrity of the republic, name list of the personnel of about 200 people and the command of the military unit participating in a war for the first time, and the scene of being martyred of our 5 military servicemen, who stood firm before the enemy’s military equipment, during the battle for Horadiz, the borderline settlement of Fuzuli region are demonstrated at the large hall on the 1st floor.

In the first small hall, the photos, personal properties of the National Heroes of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the instruments used by them during the war are demonstrated.
In the second small hall, the photos reflecting the path of struggle of the Internal Troops in protection of Aghdam, Aghdara and Fuzuli regions, personal properties, communication devices and other instruments used during the war are demonstrated.
A corner reflecting the care and attention provided to the Internal Troops by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the President of the republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev has been created in the large hall on the second floor. There have been displayed the Decree of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev “on the Status of Internal Troops”, his orders about awarding the military personnel of the Internal Troops and quotes, and the books covering his personal and professional life, as well as the photos reflecting the visits of the President Ilham Aliyev to the military units of the Internal Troops on March 12,  2005, his sayings, orders, decrees about army building, and other exhibitions.

VISIT OF YOUNG SOLDIERS TO THE INTERNAL TROOPS MUSEUM
 
In order to obtain extensive information about the history, formation period, roles, and the heroism examples showed by our military servicemen martyred in the fights for defense of our lands, the young soldier visited the Museum, which is located within the territory of the military unit no. “N” on January 31. The Senior Lieutenant Anar Ahmadov get the young soldiers familiarized with the compositions and exhibitions covering the history of the Internal Troops, and provided comprehensive information about them.
 
  It was mentioned that the Museum consist of 2 large, 4 small halls, a museum foundation and the work-room of the museum manager. In addition, the achievements of the Internal Troops, special operations and specific tactical trainings carried out, as well as the special operations implemented by them in 1999 at Gobustan Closed Corrective Labor Colony and in 2005 at the Corrective Labor Colony No.11, and the special equipment and clothing sets used in those events, other exhibitions and photos reflecting development of the Internal Troops are displayed on the boards there.
 
 In the second small hall, the photos reflecting the path of struggle of the Internal Troops in protection of Aghdam, Aghdara and Fuzuli regions, personal properties, communication devices and other instruments used during the war are demonstrated.
 
  Besides, there have been demonstrated photos reflecting the events and meetings dedicated to international relations of the Internal Troops, exhibits given by international organizations, Order dated 1998 of the republic President on the Protocol about assistance from the Department of Turkish Gendarmerie to the Main Department of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic in training and education and in supply between the governments of the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the opinions and recommendations of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev about the brotherhood, and friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

  We should note that there are two compositions and 650 exhibits in the Internal Troops Museum in general.
