President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of a newly-built military unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sabunchu district, Baku on March 12 – on the Day of Internal Troops.
Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov reported to President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Minister Vilayat Eyvazov informed the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev of the work done.
It was stated that the headquarters, a barrack, a canteen, a medical center, guard, maintenance, checkpoints and other auxiliary buildings were built in the military unit within the framework of improving service, household and battle readiness level of personnel and a sports village was established. The new buildings were supplied with the necessary equipment and inventories. The existing buildings were also renovated. Central air conditioning, fire alarm and video surveillance systems were installed in the military unit. The President, Commander-in-Chief familiarized himself with the newly-built headquarters, a barrack, a medical center and a canteen.
It was noted that all opportunities were created to perform the service at the high level in the military unit.
It should be noted that improving service conditions for soldiers and officers is one of the factors directly impacting on execution of any duty, as well as increases their fighting capability.
Then President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev viewed weapons and ammunition for Special Forces of the Internal Troops and hardware and commandant posts in order to disperse mass riots. These posts are established for service in the liberated territories.
It should be noted that personnel of Internal Troops actively participated in protection of public order, ensuring the security and the struggle against criminality, as well as conducting special operations. As in the First Karabakh War, Special Forces of Internal Troops proactively attended in ensuring of justice for Azerbaijan under a single command. 9 servicemen of Internal Troops were awarded the honorary title of National Hero of Azerbaijan in the First Karabakh War. In the 44-days Patriotic War 66 of personnel of Internal Troops were martyred, 346 servicemen were injured, 4 were awarded the title of the Hero of the Patriotic War.
President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev pays special attention to army establishment, especially promotion of Internal Troops’ activity, further improvement of social and living conditions and awarding servicemen who perform their duties worthily. The fact that two servicemen of Internal Troops under the Ministry of Internal Affairs were awarded with medal “For Motherland”, three servicemen were awarded with medal “For courage” and 7 servicemen were awarded with medal “For military services” pursuant to the Order dated March 12, 2021 by the President of Azerbaijan is the evidence of this.
It should be noted that Internal Troops as one of the important structural units of the unified system are able and ready to protect interests of an individual, society and state and Constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens against criminal attempts, to carry out the protection of significant public facilities and communication devices, to ensure public order and public safety, as well as to perform other duties provided by law worthily.
