On February 25, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Interior Troops, head of Personnel Department, Major-General Vidadi Aliyev received the Regional Representative for Police and Security Forces of Azerbaijan Representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mr. Halit Bulandikli at the headquarters of the Internal Troops. The official guest was accompanied by Ilaha Huseynova, the head of the public relations department at the ICRC Representation in Azerbaijan.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Interior Troops, head of Personnel Department, Major-General Vidadi Aliyev conveyed greetings to the guest and said that relations between the Ministry of Interior Affairs and its troops and the ICRC Representation in Azerbaijan have been successfully continued in recent years. He said that from 2003 to the present, that he has conducted numerous courses conducted by the for police officers and internal military personnel on the topics “International Humanitarian Law”, “International Human Rights Law” and “International Standards for Police Activities”, and hundreds of police and military personnel participated in these events. Noting that the courses and seminars conducted by the ICRC are useful for police officers and servicemen of the Internal Troops, the Deputy Commander noted the great interest in the continuation of these activities.

Mr Halit Bulanikli expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome and appreciation of his cooperation with the ICRC. The guest noted that the relations between the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its Internal troops and the ICRC Representation in Azerbaijan is successful and expressed his confidence that relations will continue in the same way in the future.

At the end of the meeting, the guest was presented a gift and a photo was taken.


Then the guests visited the Higher Military School of Internal Troops. First of all the chief of the school, Major-General Ilgar Mammadov introduced them to the cadets' curriculum. During the sincere meeting, the sides discussed the organization of courses or conferences on "International humanitarian law" and "International human rights law". Noting that this issue is still relevant today, Mr. Halit Bulanikli emphasized the importance of the cadets' participation in such courses, noting that the ICRC is ready to provide any further support in this regard.
