27 years have passed since the establishment of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 
this regard, Commander of the Internal Troops and a group of servicemen have honored the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor.
The memory of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated and flowers were laid on her grave.
Later, they laid a wreath in front of the “Eternal torch”, a monument built to the memory of the sons of the Motherland, who lost their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. A monument to the martyrs of the Internal Troops was visited.
Then a solemn ceremony dedicated to the next anniversary was held at the Headquarters of the Internal Troops. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov attended the event.
Firstly, the Flag of War of the Internal Troops were brought to the hall. The memory of great leader Heydar Aliyev, military servicemen and all martyrs who died during the service and for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country, was commemorated with a minute of silence and state anthem.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, commander of the Internal Troops, Lieutenant-General Shahin Mammadov made a report on the establishment, development and the current situation of the unit. It was noted that the first day of the fight for the protection of the lands, i.e. March 12, 1992 was declared as “A day of the Internal Troops of the Republic of Azerbaijan” by the Decree of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev issued on March 1, 1995.
Noting that the history of the Internal Troops is rich in bright events and closely tied to the new history of our homeland, the Deputy Minister emphasized that the servicemen of the Troops serving the people and state faithfully have always fulfilled the set tasks loyally together with the Police officers. He noted that 672 servicemen of the Internal Troops were killed in the battles for the territorial integrity of the republic, 1173 were wounded, 9 were missing and 9 of the servicemen were awarded the title "National Hero of Azerbaijan".
The speaker said that practical measures were taken to improve management in the Internal Troops, to develop the combat and vocational training, to strengthen military discipline, to establish a normative-legal and logistical base since 1994.
As a result of the planned work, the effectiveness of the commanders and governing bodies, the combat capability of the military units, the spirit of patriotism of soldiers and officers have increased, and the moral and psychological state has significantly strengthened.
Later, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov made a speech and conveyed the sincere congratulations and best wishes of His Excellency to the participants of the event on the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Internal Troops, under the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev. O, Milli He recalled that National Leader Heydar Aliyev attached great importance to the improvement of the Internal Troops, one of the main structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the army building process, and that the Internal Troops has been developed with his special care and attention.
Mr. Ramil Usubov has noted that the Internal Troops have become one of the professional units, the supporter of the stability and statehood capable of performing any war tasks successfully, the material and technical base, the housing stock has been improved due to the great attention and care of the honorable President of our country, and that special measures have been taken to ensure that the military units are equipped with the highest international standards of technology, special means and communication systems.
It was noted that staff has a specific role in combating crime in the country, protecting public order and law, neutralizing armed gangs, eliminating the consequences of natural disasters and man-made accidents.
Emphasizing that the decisions for the improvement of the Internal Affairs, conferring 16 servicemen with a state award under the decree of the President dated on March 7, 2019, giving the highest military rank to two officers and raising the salary of the servicemen on the eve of the holiday were met by the staff with gratitude and enthusiasm, the Minister stated that the participation of the State leader in different events of the Internal Troops, as well as his respect to the service of the troops, his valuable ideas and recommendations always encourage the staff to achieve greater success.
It was also mentioned that the Internal Troops have been closely cooperating with the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command since 1997. Minister R.Usubov expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Gendarmerie Forces Command and the military experts of the friend and brotherly state for their undeniable role in the successes achieved.
Colonel-General Ramil Usubov assured the President of the country that the staff of the Internal Troops will continue to use their effort and ability to preserve the law and order and the internal security of the republic and to protect the citizens and state from the illegal acts.
After announcement of the decrees of the State Leader on awarding a group of servicemen on the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Internal Troops, and orders signed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Deputy Ministry, the Commander of Internal Troops, those distinguished for their service were conferred on the state award.
At the end of the event, there was an appeal to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, his Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
