On December 7, the ceremony of the presentation of the identification card of the “Veteran of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan” to a group of veterans of the Armed Forces of the Internal Troops in reserve was held in the military unit No. 25031. Members of the Veterans Council of the Internal Troops also attended the ceremony. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs-Commander of the Internal Troops Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov opened the ceremony and welcomed the veterans. He stated that, for the first time in the Internal Troops, issuance of the official identification card of the veteran of the Armed Forces was started. After the relevant order was signed by the Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General Ramil Usubov, preparation, as well as issuance of the identification cards was started.
Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov noted that issuance of the identification cards of the veteran of the Armed Forces to the veterans in reserve was determined. This step is the manifestation of their contribution to the formation and development of the troops, and in general, an example of deep respect for the veterans. He informed that the veterans, to whom the identification cards were presented, filed an application in this regard. As long as the applications are entered, this process will continue. Therefore, veterans of the relevant category must be informed by the Veterans Council.
Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov presented the identification cards of the veteran of the Armed Forces to the veterans, whose names were mentioned in the relevant order. The Commander of the Internal Troops congratulated the veterans, to whom the identification cards were presented, on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Command of the Internal Troops and wished them good luck. He particularly underlined that it is important to continue such goodwill events. Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov, giving instructions on the organization of the meeting with veterans in large groups in the near future, underlined the important role of the Veterans Council of the Internal Troops in establishing relations between veterans.
Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov spoke in his speech about the innovations happening in the troops, the achievements obtained in various fields of service, the development of our military units, and also some moments that concerned the command in the work process with the personal staff.
The Commander of the Internal Troops, in general, stressed that our military servicemen were serving with loyalty to our statehood and that attention and care of the President of the Republic, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the Internal Troops had a great inspirational effect on the personal staff.
He informed the ceremony participants about the work carried out to renew the monument on the common grave of our martyred military servicemen in the Martyrs’ Lane in Baku, as well as the wide range of measures taken to specify the list of our martyred and missing military servicemen.
Later, Lieutenant-General Sh. Mammadov listened to the veterans’ appeals and gave appropriate instructions to the relevant officials about the issues raised by them.
