With the invitation of Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov, the delegation led by Gendarmerie General Commander of the Republic of Turkey, Army General Arif Cetin arrived in our country on an official visit.
First of all, Mr. Arif Cetin and his accompanying persons went to the Alley of Honors and laid wreath on the grave of National Leader and commemorated cherished memory of great leader. Flowers were laid on the grave of outstanding ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
Then representatives of brother country visited “Eternal Flame Memorial” complex and Turkish Martyrs Memorial.

Welcoming the guests, the minister mentioned that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have always been developed in a rising line, national leader Heydar Aliyev’s service in this field, his policy of “one nation, two states” is being successfully implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the relations between friend and brother country entered in a new stage as a result of the political will and mutual visits of the Heads of State.
The Minister expressed his gratitude and emphasized that the services of the organization led by him attaches great importance to the cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Gendarmerie Command, and being the organization that meets the most up-to-date requirements in the formation of internal troops and great service of Gendarmerie Command in enhancing professionalism of the military personnel.
Then, the guest was informed about the problems faced by our republic in the early years of independence, the occupation of our lands by the Armenian armed forces, the displacement of more than 1 million of our compatriots from their native land, intense socio-political processes taking place in our country. It was noted that after returning to the power of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the criminogenic situation in Azerbaijan was taken under full control as a result of the decisive measures carried out under his leadership in all fields of the community, including fight against crime and the provision of public security.
It was noted that today, under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev irreversible socio-political stability and tranquility were established, which are the main factors of rapid development of our country in the recent years.
The Minister expressed his confidence that the visit of Turkish Gendarmerie General Commander to our country would have positive impact on development and deepening of our relations.
Expressing his gratitude for sincere welcome and detailed information, Arif Cetin noted his satisfaction on his visit to Azerbaijan, defining Baku as one of the most beautiful capital and secure city in all over the world, dynamic, rapid development of our country, as well as the transformation of Internal Troops into the mobile organization with high professionalism and combat ability.

During the visit, which will last until August 16, delegation of the friend and brother country will familiarize with the organization of training and education in the Higher Military School of Internal Troops, comprehensive condition for cadets, as well as “N” military unit situated in Baku. Then they will observe special tactical training in the Training Center of the Troops, and visit the Heydar Aliyev Center and other historical, cultural monuments in the capital.
